St. Anthony’s Triathlon Announced as 2019 USAT Regional Championship in Both Olympic-Distance and Paratriathlon Championship
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., (January 29, 2019)
We are pleased to announce that St Anthony’s Triathlon will once again serve as the regional Olympic Distance Qualifier for the 2019 National Championships!
The St. Anthony’s Triathlon race has a long history in attracting high-caliber athletes from all over the world including Olympic athletes and Ironman world champions. Securing the position as a regional qualifier means 2019 will be no exception to this long-standing tradition of bringing some of the nations biggest competitors to St Petersburg.
Per USAT, the top 33 percent or top five (whichever is greater) competitors will qualify per their respective age groups for the Olympic Distance National Championships.Athletes can only qualify at a Regional Championship or Special Qualifier if racing Olympic-distance. No other distance will allow for qualification.
All athletes must be at least 17 years old by Dec. 31, 2018, to qualify for the Olympic-Distance National Championships.
