St. Anthony’s Triathlon Seeks Volunteers
for 2016 Race Weekend

Three Races and Expo Set April 22-24

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., (March 2, 2016) - Grab the best seat to see all the action up close as a volunteer at the 33rd annual St. Anthony’s Triathlon weekend, April 22-24. About 1,000 volunteers are needed to assist the 3,500 athletes who are expected to swim, bike and run along St. Petersburg’s picturesque waterfront.

Volunteers, who help in such areas as athlete check-in, finish-line duty, athlete body marking, water stations, transition areas and merchandise sales, are essential to help make the weekend a success.

Volunteers are needed at the two-day St. Anthony’s Sports and Fitness Expo on April 22-24; the Meek & Mighty Triathlon on April 23; and at the main Triathlon Olympic and Sprint distance races on April 24.

“Each year, we are so thankful for our dedicated volunteers who are always eager to help where needed,” said Susan Daniels, Triathlon manager. “Athletes who race around the world always complement our volunteers for being so helpful and so knowledgeable. Because the St. Anthony’s Triathlon is one of the largest events in the country, we certainly need all hands on deck to continue to make it a world-class event.”

All volunteers will receive a commemorative race T-shirt, access to the volunteer hospitality tent and the chance to experience first-hand one of St. Petersburg’s signature events. Volunteer schedules, directions and parking instructions will be distributed before the race.
