Last Call to Register for the 30th Anniversary St. Anthony's Triathlon
St. Anthony's Triathlon Registration to Close Monday, April 15
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla, (April 3, 2013) - There are still some remaining spots for triathletes to be part of the 30th Anniversary of St. Anthony's Triathlon before registration closes Monday, April 15.
In its inaugural year, the race saw 600 competitors. On April 26-28, 2013, the triathlon is hosting approximately 90 pros, 3,500 individuals and 125 relay teams from more than 44 states and nearly 23 countries.
This year's St. Anthony's Triathlon will include one of the largest and most talented professional fields in the sport competing for portion of the $65,000 prize purse. The professional field will see the return of Filip Ospaly, the Czech Republic athlete who won the men's title for the past two years, and approximately 90 other professionals including many that are Olympic medalists and World Champions representing a variety of distances from the sport including Ironman and 70.3 racing, to the non-drafting Olympic distance and the ITU.
First time triathletes, weekend warriors and pros are all encouraged to register soon for one of the few remaining slots for the 30th St. Anthony's Triathlon race or the Meek & Mighty triathlons by visiting: www.satriathlon.com or call (727) 953-9005.
The three-day event weekend begins on Friday, April 26 with a sports and fitness expo. The Meek & Mighty Triathlon, a short distance race for youths ages 7-14 and novice adults, as well as the sports and fitness expo is Saturday, April 27; and the St. Anthony's Triathlon is on Sunday, April 28.
The St. Anthony's Triathlon is the first event of the World Triathlon Corp.'s (WTC) 5150 Triathlon Series, an international-distance race (1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run). The race will serve as a qualifier for the HyVee 5150 U.S. Championship and is also the 2013 USA Triathlon Regional Championship, providing athletes the opportunity to qualify for the 2013 USA Triathlon Olympic-Distance National Championships.
